The Sassy Green Room

Renovation

Project Overview

Objective: It was the goal of the homeowner to take this former dining room and create it as a comfortable living room paying tribute to items found around while renovating this 1862 colonial home.

The appeal of this room comes with modern elements, including artwork and comfortable seating, paired with timeless pieces like the bookcase and end tables. Original tin ceilings in this room had to be removed as the structural beam was cracked from top to bottom.

The staircase was opened up to create a more functional kitchen on the other side of the staircase. All of the original pane windows were removed and replaced with energy-efficient vinyl windows.

The home is now bright, comfortable, and honors the history of the home.
